Cashew nuts imported into China mainly come from Vietnam

In the first nine months of this year, Vietnam's cashew nut exports to China increased rapidly, and the share of Vietnam's cashew nuts in the market of more than one billion people increased significantly.

According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, China's cashew imports in September 2021 amounted to US$22.24 million, an increase of 17.7% from September 2020.

In the first nine months of 2021, China's cashew imports reached US$125.84 million, an increase of 23% over the same period in 2020. Among them, China's cashew imports to Vietnam amounted to 110.88 million US dollars, an increase of 28.7%. The market share of Vietnamese cashew nuts in China increased from 84.17% in the first nine months of 2020 to 88.12% in the first nine months of 2021.

The export value and market share of Vietnamese cashew nuts to the Chinese market are much higher than other suppliers, specifically: Togo US$4.6 million, accounting for 3.63%; Benin US$3.3 million, accounting for 2.61%; Cote d'Ivoire US$2.8 million, accounting for 2.23% ; Cambodia 1.6 million US dollars, accounting for 1.23%.
