Some places agreed to resume domestic flights

In accordance with the draft plan for the first phase of domestic flight development after the Ministry of Transport has relaxed social distancing measures in various regions, the Vietnam Aviation Administration has solicited opinions from 19 provinces and cities on the resumption of domestic flight routes.

19 provinces and cities including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Haiphong, Can Tho, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Dien Bien, Thu Thien Hue, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang and Ca Mau.

Recently, Binh Dinh, Dien Bien, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa and Haiphong City have issued a document expressing their opinions on the Vietnam Aviation Administration's plan to restore domestic air routes. Among them, the four provinces of Binh Dinh, Dien Bien, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa agreed with the Vietnam Aviation Administration's plan to restore regular domestic routes. Haiphong City suggests not to resume flights to and from Haiphong for the time being.

On October 4th, the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee issued an emergency notice to the Vietnam Aviation Administration to advise on the resumption of domestic air routes from Hanoi to various places. In accordance with the notice, the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee recommended that the Vietnam Aviation Administration only organize domestic flights to and from Noi Bai International Airport upon receipt of written notifications from Hanoi and the nearby provincial and municipal People’s Committees.

On the same day, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document to the Vietnam Aviation Administration, basically in favor of the Vietnam Aviation Administration's draft plan for operating domestic routes under the situation of the new crown pneumonia epidemic.

According to the Vietnam Aviation Administration's document soliciting opinions from various regions, the agency intends to resume 385 daily round-trip flights. Among them, Ho Chi Minh City resumed 18 routes with 132 round-trip flights; Da Nang City resumed 10 round-trip flights.
